GarageBand will recognize General MIDI program changes, so using standard midi files is even better than before. Use Standard Midi Files of classical pieces for music for your next video piece, the music is public domain and with this feature it can be pretty impressive.

How odd. Well maybe when you take it to a friends some day, or somewhere with a network connection to the net. Wait a minute, how do you get on you tube, is it a PC, on dial up:). Maybe you can borrow a friends disc.

  • jamez123123:

wow the Orchestra string ensemble and others are just so realistic, i love it when you put modulation wheel up and it plays the diffrent Articulations just brilliant so real compared to any midi recording program ever !

  • jamez123123:

thanks but i tried that, the intruments are in the list but blanked out and with a little arrow on i clicked and it gave me the option to download from the internet or dvd but i dont have the internet on the mac and this mac was from ebay and came with i-life on so i dont have the disc :(
mind you i have all the jam pack voices so they are proberly better! and all my saved instruments from the past are there

  • soundorphan:

There is a flip switch in Garage Band that will allow you to choose the collection of instruments you want to see. It is right below software instrument. Change it from JamPack to ALL or garageband. There is a similar change in the loop browser.

  • jamez123123:

WOW i got logic studio, lots of stuff doesnt match my system requirments so i’m really using it for the jam packs cause you get all the jam packs with it, i got it through the school so it only cost me £119! less than all the jam packs together but please help me with this…all the garageband instruments seem to have gone!! just the jam pack one’s are there because all gb’s instruments are blanked out please help

  • jamez123123:

just one more question , does it have trumpet solo and violin and stuff like that ? thanks

  • CreativitytoSpare:

Pretty much all of those strings in the list are from the orchestral Jam Pack.

  • jamez123123:

    thanks, just one more thing
wen u’ve gone on the list of instruments
there is lots you have there!! in strings there’s loadsss is that all from that jam pack asewll ? and if you want some more i’ve downloaded all 3 of these they are great!

  • soundorphan:

Yep, all the sounds I used in the example are from the Jam Pack. The built in sounds for horns and strings are really simple, these are dramatically better.

  • jamez123123:

i am about to order this, all the extra instruments i see you had there, is that all just Ochestral pack ? cause if it is i’m getting it lol! and does the strings section and brass section and stuff sound alot better than the horns and strings it comes with ? thanks!

  • smileyfacero:

    Thanks this helped a lot!

  • josh955iracer:

    awome

  • CreativitytoSpare:

Yeah it has solo trumpet, and brass ensembles. There is a lot of nuances to all the instruments. You access most of them with the modulation wheel.

  • jamez123123:

    yeh thanks alot!
i’ve just orderd a imac g4 just for garage band really lol!
