Over the years, party-goers have enjoyed countless local bands including: Authority Zero, AZZ IZZ, Carvin Jones, The Chadwicks, Dr. Ruth, Hans Olsen, Harry Luge, Love Me Nots, Mogollon, Phunk Junkees, Pistoleros, Walt Richardson, Zowie Bowie and two of Tempe’s favorites, Roger Clyne & the Peacemakers and the Gin Blossoms. This year, we welcome national recording act, Jimmy Eat World home to Tempe. Formed in Mesa in 1994, there is no better band to rock us in to the New Year than Jimmy Eat World, who records in Tempe when not on tour. The anthemic pop-rockers will be joined by more than 40 local entertainers who will undoubtedly make this the best Fiesta Bowl Block Party yet. Back for their sixth year, the Big Bang Dueling Pianos feature sing-a-long fun that many people say is the best part of the Block Party. Scandelesque performers will have their own stage this year, bringing a new entertainment venue to the Block Party. Popular illusionist and Block Party staple, Craig Davis, will bring his World of Illusion to the streets of Tempe which, as always, will be filled with fantastic music and eclectic entertainers. The center of the Block Party will be alive with video and music like never before as we bring our dance club to the middle of 5th Street and Mill Ave. It will be none stop action. Those looking …
